Standing on Ruins, Gazing at Ruins

“The show is over. The audience gets up to leave their seats. Time to collect their coats and go home. They turn around. No more coats and no more home.” – Raoul Vaneigem

This work envisions a new worldview where humans create a “natural environment” based on desires for survival and pleasure. Consumer culture creates a nihilistic spectacle for human society. The exhibition uses architectural debris and broken structures as the main visual elements, immersing the audience in a world where consumerism erodes the natural environment. It critically examines the “nihilistic spectacle” we have constructed through consumer culture.
