About

Shuyi Zhou has been working on the entangled relationship between human and non-human species, in an attempt to enhance people’s care for other species in nature by exploring more possibilities of interaction between the two and seeking ways to co-exist with each other in a more harmonious way.

The work “Calcium Cycle Community” is an experimental artwork that integrates art and science, aiming to explore the cyclical relationship between the human body and nature in a more equal way. The work incorporates elements of agriculture as a link between human beings and nature, and conveys the concept of environmental protection and sustainable development to the public. At the same time, the work explores the role of the public in the artwork and the community, and promotes the fair distribution of social resources and community cohesion through the establishment of a social community that transcends geographic constraints and promotes the participation and co-operation of people from different social backgrounds.
