Thomas Bugg

Information Experience Design (MA)

About

Thomas Bugg is a multidisciplinary artist and designer whose work spans installation, moving image, sound, and performance. He delves into the subtle and often overlooked aspects of human existence, focusing on the ephemeral and intangible elements that shape our lives and influence our connection to the world. Through cultural observation and introspection, Thomas uses his practice as a tool to reflect on the human condition and uncover the processes that shape our perceptions and thoughts. His work has explored themes such as nostalgia, identity, dark ecology, surveillance and care.

Having recently graduated from the MA Information Experience Design programme at the Royal College of Art, Thomas earned his BA (Hons) in Graphic Communication Design (with Creative Computing) from Central Saint Martins in 2021. Beyond his personal practice, Thomas has taught on the MA Biodesign programme at Central Saint Martins.

His professional engagements include working on projects for notable clients such as Nike, Arena Homme +, Snap Inc, and Fashion Revolution, as well as with institutions like Kandinsky Theatre, Royal College of Art, The Open Data Institute, and Central Saint Martins. His work has been featured by Thames & Hudson, Design Week, Threads Radio and Campaign and has won a D&AD Yellow Pencil and been shortlisted for the LVMH Maison/0 Green Trail Award.

His work has been previously exhibited at the Barbican Centre, Centre Pompidou, Iklectik Art Lab and the Corner 7 Gallery.
