About
Kaixiang ZHOU is a graphic designer and visual communicator whose design practice focuses on capturing and amplifying intrinsic value and meaning through design. After completing his undergraduate studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, he chose to continue studying visual communication at the Royal Academy of Arts. His works are adept at discovering the underlying logic and metaphors behind things, aiming to depict and enhance the potential value and meaning contained within them. By integrating traditional and contemporary design concepts, he strives to create visually striking narratives that resonate with different audiences and spark thoughtful engagement.
His project “Multicultural Spectacle” focuses on exploring the development and profound influence of multiculturalism. Multiculturalism can stimulate cultural vitality by mixing multiple cultural symbols. But with the intervention of capital, the use of multiculturalism has begun to become rigid in many scenarios. How to make the public aware of this dilemma? By searching for the shadow of culture in the infrastructure of ‘de culture’. Change the structure of infrastructure to transform them into fascinating cultural totems. This is not only a personal interpretation of multiculturalism, but also a reflection and reconstruction of cultural traditions.
