About

Min Zhu is a visual designer from China with a passion for narrative through recorded sound and image.

Her research focuses on social, feminist, natural and sustainable topics. Print, image, video, weaving, and practice are all forms of expression in her work. During her studies at RCA, min has a strong interest in sound visuals, and hopes to break through the boundaries of linguistic codes and introduce new ways of narrating.

In the project “Dialogue Weaving”, the mapping of mother-daughter relationships in the East was established by recording daily mother-daughter dialogues and exploring the connections and separations between mother-daughter relationships, which triggered my interest in feminism in the context of Eastern societies.

She intuitively analyses and expresses the emotions of the dialogues through digital games, generating dynamic images and experimenting with interdisciplinary practices of analogue and digital technologies. Weaving was chosen to express the transformation of the mother-daughter relationship. This stems from an interest in weaving.
