Shiyi Peng
About
Shiyi Peng is a visual designer from China. Shiyi’s artistic journey is deeply rooted in exploring memory and identity, seeking to understand the profound connections between our past and present selves. Her work delves into the complexities of human experience, using visual storytelling to evoke a dialogue between the personal and the collective, the past and the present.
Shiyi’s current project focuses on creating a profound dialogue between her present and past selves, evoking childhood memories within contemporary contexts. This exploration highlights how recalling past social relationships can alleviate loneliness and stress, offering a pathway to inner peace and emotional support amid life’s challenges. By revisiting these memories, she re-examines the intricate relationship between the individual and their environment.
Through these lenses, Shiyi aims to highlight the connections between the past and the present. She demonstrates how actively recalling past experiences can provide insights into psychological issues in a natural, non-invasive manner. This approach serves as a means of regulating current emotional states and cultivating a new sense of belonging to society.
