Siyun Liu
About
Siyun is a visual designer and architect who explores often overlooked details of everyday life through multimedia tools, focusing on themes such as the relationship between humans and nature, society, and psychology. She excels at combining graphic design with three-dimensional art and emphasizes interaction between the audience and her works. In her creative process, she fully utilizes her professional background in video production, architectural design, and sociology while showing a keen interest in emerging narrative forms.
Siyun’s graduate project, “New Romance,” is an immersive computer game created using Unreal Engine and Blender. This project presents a fictional theater performance that tells the story of humans being manipulated by electronic witchcraft, exploring how individuals engage in self-expression and emotional communication with others in a digital world. Her other project, “Stamford Brook,” consists of a series of interactive artworks, novels, installations, and videos that respond to environmental issues and narrate the story of lost rivers, delving into our innate connection with water.
Siyun’s work not only demonstrates her profound understanding of the integration of technology and art but also invites the audience to re-examine their relationship with the surrounding world.
