Copy.jpg investigates how political memes are constructed? How and where are they consumed, understood and reinterpreted? Political memes are a powerful tool of cultural expression that can be used to convey political views and social commentary through techniques such as banter, exaggeration and satire. However, there are risks associated with the construction and consumption of political memes as they can be misinterpreted or misused, or even become a tool for the dissemination of disinformation, and such tampering can lead to viewers being misled and manipulated. It also weakens the audience’s ability to think critically and independently. The project was launched through Victim’s Manifesto Campaign, which aims to raise awareness of their manipulative nature and the damage this does to the publics’ ability to remain critical.
