About

Rafael Franco is a designer, futurist and entrepreneur from Bogotá, Colombia. With a multidisciplinary background in business, civil engineering and design, his research and professional practice focuses in exploring systemic and community-led strategies to accelerate transitions to more regenerative, caring and circular economies.

Before the RCA, Rafael developed his career in service design and innovation working for global strategic design consultancies (Fjord/INSITUM), an early stage proptech and a multinational CPG corporate. With over 6 years of experience leading research, design and development projects for new businesses, strategies, products and services, he skillfully connects the dots between business, design, technology and society to envision and realize transformative organizational and systems change.

Interests: 

Regenerative design, nature-based solutions, public purpose innovation, cities and living environments, design as democratic enquiry, ecology, relationality.
