Project Context - Over the past decade, China's urbanisation has been rapidly growing, leading to a remarkable growth in the urban population and a more vigorous social development. This growth has resulted in various new mobility needs and opportunities. Having paved the way for reform and opening up, Shenzhen has experienced remarkable transformations. However, while the city provides convenience to people's lives, it also creates several urban problems.

Current Situations - 1. Sustainable development is mainstream. 2. More sustained policies supporting for the shared mobility. 3. Urban population keep growing. 4. Automotive industry keep transforming to adapt the changing market. 5. Constant innovation in science and technology indicate more opportunities and challenges

Research Question - How can original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in Shenzhen transform their business models to achieve sustainability while adapting to the projected impact of accelerated smart mobility trends by 2035?

Sha Ma has a decade-long career in the design industry with a deep passion for creating exceptional user experiences. After joining the MDES Design Futures Programme, she has pursued a more specific and in-depth design study, integrating future strategic and system thinking. She explores the intersection of design with culture, business, technology, and the social environment through future thinking and design practice.

PAMB – The Future Mobility Ecosystem for E-Vehicle Business in Shenzhen

This project aims to explore the evolving future mobility ecosystem, with an emphasis on developing strategic guidelines (PAMB) and a comprehensive roadmap for future e-vehicle businesses (OEMs). Furthermore, it seeks to provide new insights into sustainable urban lifestyles, contributing to the academic discourse on sustainable development in urban environments.
