About

Abhishek Ramakrishnan is a product designer currently based in London. He believes that the essence of design lies in creating meaningful and desirable futures; this transformative idea is central to his work.

Abhishek’s educational journey, which includes studies at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, and the Royal College of Art, London, has shaped his strong vision and approach to Design. His professional experiences with Titan Watches, IFB Appliances, and independent projects have further enriched his practice. His work often brings attention to overlooked everyday experiences such as time and writing, transforming them into innovative design solutions.

As part of his Independent Research Project at the Royal College of Art, he explored the act of writing among adult learners, particularly in ESOL education (English for Speakers of Other Languages). The project involves creating a pen attachment that tracks writing progress to build a persistent writing habit. It aims to motivate learners to write more and help tutors monitor progress more effectively. The objective is to introduce the benefits of digital technologies into adult education without compromising the analog experience, thereby creating tools that enhance learning and bridge gaps in accessibility.

He aspires to continue developing creative solutions that blend functionality with user-centric design, reimagining futures through products and experiences that have a meaningful impact on people’s lives.
