Tejas Prasad Gaikwad is an experienced Product Designer with background in Industrial and UX Design, now specialising in Mixed Reality User Experience Design with a focus on interaction, interface, cognitive understandings, and physical experiences. Winning numerous competitions and recognitions on international level, Tejas has proved his competant process of designing to be highly efficient and innovative.
At the core of his work remains understanding human behaviour and integrating creativity while solving real-world problems with cutting-edge technology.
For his Master’s thesis project, he developed NeuroFocus XR, which is a neurofeedback therapy for ADHD adults in Mixed Reality. It empowers users with live brainwave feedback and visual stimuli, helping them self-regulate their emotions and actions. Since it is based in real-time, users can be aware of their brainwave patterns so that they can choose to do tasks that are suitable for their current brainwave patterns.
The innovation point of NeuroFocus XR is showcased through its application via Mixed Reality. Since it is based in real-time, users can be aware of their brainwave patterns so that they can choose to do tasks that are suitable for their current brainwave patterns. This way they can achieve more, struggle less, and work efficiently in less time. The visual stimuli are placed in the semi-focused area of the human vision angle so that the user can focus on their task while simultaneously being aware of their brain wave patterns. This way users can get live feedback of when they get distracted or zoned out with the help of changing colour gradients on the side of their vision, indicating them to switch to a different task suitable for their current brainwave state or take a break.
By capitalising on the cognitive states of ADHD people, we can ensure an inclusive, and more flexible way of working for the future of neurodiversity.
Tejas believes and continuously works for an intuitive humanist approach towards a technological design future.
