Design Products (MA)

About

Zi Ye is a product designer who sees products as tools to influence thoughts and behaviors. She is dedicated to using design to foster understanding and acceptance of diverse lifestyles. During her Master’s at the Royal College of Art, she explored how design can raise awareness of different behaviors. She aims to create functional, value-driven products that emotionally connect with users and promote inclusivity.

Her design, the OutdoorWorkmate, responds to the growing number of digital nomads and freelancers who increasingly switch work environments as part of their routine. In today’s fast-paced world, where flexibility and inspiration are key to productivity, the OutdoorWorkmate addresses the lack of comfortable and portable tools for outdoor work. Unlike traditional setups, it combines a table and a backrest into a single, portable unit, providing both support and functionality. This innovative design enhances outdoor work experiences by boosting efficiency, easing stress, and sparking creativity, ensuring that users remain comfortable and productive whether working in a park, at the beach, or in any other outdoor setting.
