About

Hongzheng Wu (Hertz)

jewellery and fashion accessories designer

I graduated from the University of Creative Arts and got a Master of Arts Jewellery degree in the UK before I came to the Royal College of Arts.

My works are mostly interactive jewellery and accessories, which allow jewellery and accessories to have different types of physical movements through interaction with the human body, which is full of fun. I am mainly focusing on exploring the relationship and more possibilities between the human body and jewellery or accessories.

CHAN 2024

I was inspired by Zen. By creating a series of interactive accessories and objects, I try to interpret the Zen idea of “seeking inner peace and mental enlightenment by Vipassana.” Through sight, touch and hearing, people can feel the core concept of Zen and get a better experience when practising meditation and Tai Chi. When you meditate or practice Tai Chi, gently hold this piece in your hand. With the slight movement of the body, the silverware structures inside each piece collide, producing a crisp, healing sound.
