Graduation Collection
My project is inspired by the threat of volcanic eruptions to humanity. I imagine a future where digital volcanoes erupt, and digital lava represents malicious codes or viruses, rapidly destroying data and systems, or it could be AI. Inspired by the film “The Fire of Love,” the iron-armored snail, and the Monkey Puzzle tree, I use biomimicry and origami art in my designs. Each look incorporates folding and layering techniques, featuring straight lines and large geometric shapes, symbolizing firewalls and protective screens against digital threats. These designs reflect structures that are hard to collapse, allowing humanity to survive digital lava invasions. I also create an interactive space for a virtual volcanic utopia, where nature and technology coexist harmoniously. In this world, physical clothing is not just a symbol of protection; it represents that no matter how AI digital lava destroys and erodes the “garments” (symbolizing human self-awareness and digital resources), the “clothing” will never lose its core. This speculative utopian world symbolizes resilience to disasters and the protection of digital resources. By combining physical craftsmanship with digital technology, the project promotes adaptability and sustainability. Through community engagement, I aim to raise awareness of future technological threats, showcasing the revival of future human identity and lifestyle.
