About

Xingyi wu is a fashion designer.she graduated from wuhan textile university with a degree in fashion and is currently studying at the royal college of art for her master’s degree in fashion.

Her work is centered on establishing a connection between the female body and the earth. In this series, she places the female body in nature, creating a female spirit that is omnipresent yet seemingly absent. This spirit is both rooted in the earth and embodied in nature. It seems to float in every corner of people’s lives, yet is deeply hidden in the embrace of nature.

She decided to delve into demonized female archetypes, exploring and revealing the pain and strength they endure. Using the shapes, structures and textures of the tree lines, she sought to create a sense of unease that reflects the abuse and oppression women experience in society.

“all the lives we ever lived and all the lives to be/ Are full of trees and changing leaves”

We often forget that we are nature itself, and nature is not something separate from us. So when we say we have lost our connection with nature, we have lost our connection with ourselves.  She hope to trigger the audience’s thinking and resonance about women’s experiences, to feel the delicate and tough between the female body and nature,  to evoke deep resonance on women’s experiences. Awakening thinking about the subtle connection between the female body and nature.
