About

Zayin Lin is a multifaceted designer specializing in visual design, fashion design, performing arts, and interactive installations. She graduated from Xiamen University with a degree in Visual Communication Design and obtained a Master’s degree in Womenswear Fashion Design from the Royal College of Art. Her work focuses on social impact and inclusive design, aiming to advance societal progress through art.

She possesses profound insights into social phenomena and personal experiences, particularly concerning the evolving roles of women throughout their lives. She examines the transitions from daughter to wife, from wife to mother, and even through divorce and single motherhood. These role shifts come with societal expectations and pressures. Unmarried women might be perceived as “lacking stability,” married women may face demands to prioritize family over career, divorced women might be labeled as “failures,” and single mothers could be questioned about balancing work and family. These unfair treatments not only affect their professional growth but also limit their personal development and social status.

With over a decade of experience in design, she has gained extensive expertise ranging from brand visual identity systems and textile pattern design to physical garment design. Her roles in large enterprises and successful management of teams exceeding ten members have deepened her understanding of the social value of design.

Currently, she is exploring a transition from physical garment design to virtual fashion design, leveraging AR and VR technologies to intertwine fashion with technology. Her projects not only encompass apparel design but also extend to visual arts and brand advertising. By merging visual art with technology and employing artificial intelligence to drive design innovation, she is committed to creating a more inclusive and diverse future.
