Innovation Design Engineering (MA/MSc)

About

Hi! I’m Gaoxiang.

“We choose to go to the moon,” not because it is easy, but because it is hard. This spirit of exploration and pushing boundaries defines my approach to design and innovation.

I’m a graduate of Innovation Design Engineering with a focus on Creative Technologies. My work spans Advanced Manufacturing, Sustainable Energy, and Creative Education.

During my time in Innovation Design Engineering, I developed several innovative projects, including:

  • Flavour Collage: Programmable food for deep space exploration, revolutionizing how astronauts experience meals in space.
  • Penguin Battery: Biodegradable, omni-shape batteries that offer sustainable and versatile energy solutions. (Team work)
  • Prelude: Soft construction toys that foster collaborative, imaginative play among children.

I focus on understanding fundamental motivations and behaviors, as well as the intricate interactions between people and objects. I believe that good design not only addresses problems but also opens up new possibilities to enrich lives.

Feel free to reach out—I love connecting with new people!
