About
Hey how are you?
I am Qinghanyue (Crystal) Li, a multidisciplinary designer passionate about community engagement and social change, with rich experience in creating engaging experiences and campaign strategies across fields including Media, Public Museums, Charities, Tourism, Sex Positivity, and Indie Art.
Having pursued my undergraduate degree in Digital Media & Society at The University of Sheffield, I see myself as an unconventional media researcher and social innovator in flux. With a strong belief in the value of community and mixed-media craftsmanship, I started my Master’s study in Service Design at the Royal College of Art in 2023, seeking new ways to translate socio-cultural complexities into accessible, inspirational language through various projects:
- Mindtree: A nature-as-healing service strategy for university burnout and perfectionism. Partnered with Guild of St. George on the theme “There’s no wealth but life,” this service aims to improve the well-being of Imperial College students by bringing young adults closer to nature, refreshing their minds and bodies, and eventually helping them feel more confident about their future.
- Reconnect: A functional musical installation that rekindles the lost connection between the River Brent and its local community through an interactive, filtrating landscape.
- De-secret: A reflective stop-motion film that examines and artifies our “failure” to run a co-creation workshop aimed at building healthier aging sex narratives.
- Touching: A sex-positive start-up that enables 18-40 year-old UK LGBTQ+ women to learn about sex, explore pleasure without fear or shame, and find a sense of belonging in a safe and proud community (find Touching on Instagram or visit our website).
“Dream big and keep it real” is how people usually know me and become friends. In a time when everything goes digital and real-life connections become harder to build, I strive to create work that bridges digital gaps, raises the voices of the unheard, challenges stereotypes, and brings everyone closer. By constantly renewing my knowledge and bravely moving forward, I hope to make the world a bit better with other sincere dreamers.
