Ruby Hardy Bullen

Service Design (MA)

About

Through my design practice I investigate the interplay between human behaviour and complex systems. I believe that understanding people and their lived experiences can help us tackle the ‘right’ problems and ensure solutions are inclusive, engaging and effective.

Over the last seven years, I have developed my expertise in product and experience design, working across both public and private sectors. I have led projects from inception to delivery for a variety of clients, ranging from medical products in the NHS to UX, UI and branding work for the charity sector, UK Government and E.ON Energy.

Specialising in service design at the RCA provided me with the opportunity to design holistically at scale, where I could explore problems at micro and macro levels. Two key projects exploring women in politics and the future of crime and rehabilitation with the Ministry of Justice allowed me to deepen my understanding of designing for social impact to create transformative, long-lasting change.
