About

Audrey Stephanie Lo is a mixed-media print designer motivated by texture, colors, and developing ways of hand drawing patterns and transforming/refining them digitally. She takes a multidisciplinary approach to design through her textile designs and development. Knowledgeable of fabric forms and contemporary processes by exploring the combination of mixed-media (embroidery) with digital print utilized in my work. Her designs evoke a strong focus on visual forms and colors.  Her works are embedded in storytelling to Chinese tradition from culture, history, landscape, architecture, interior, etc. with her print designs working between contrasting elements: traditions and modernity.

The “Flow State” project explores the harmonious tones of the environment and delves into the subtleties of nature often overlooked or underappreciated. It captures the dynamic and fluid beauty of Dongchuan Red Land in Yunnan, China. The swift urbanization has overshadowed appreciation for traditional agricultural landscapes, like China’s iconic terraced fields. These terraces, symbols of agricultural ingenuity and cultural heritage, are often forgotten amidst modern development. To bridge this gap, integrating motifs and designs inspired by these landscapes into urban interiors can celebrate this heritage. This approach blends past and present, fostering a deeper cultural connection and inspiring appreciation for the practices that have sustained generations.
