Helena Roberts
About
Helena Roberts (b.2001) is a London based artist and designer whose work specialises across the mediums of printed textiles and ceramics.
Her work celebrates folk, storytelling, and often the familiar and lovable via the means of spirited illustration through a keen interest in craft making; namely screen printing and slow, careful hand painting, with a process almost entirely drawing led. Helena aims to provoke a sense of play and mischief in her work, often referencing literature and theatre.
Throughout her Masters, she explored English folk heritage and identity – drawing attention to an innate and deep relationship to the land, its wonder and its magic, but vitally the weird and wonderful folk that inhabit it, with the intention of drawing connections through a combination of curious characters, making fun, and celebration.
