About

Shimei (Cristina) Lin is a multidisciplinary designer specializing in fashion and textiles, expressing her artwork through various forms of media. After graduating in Womenswear from the London College of Fashion, she further pursued her studies in Textiles at the Royal College of Art.

Her project “The Uncanny Body” challenges the human-centric view of the world by exploring the human body as an integral part of nature. This project delves into the synthesis of the future by blending futuristic materials, revolving around the concept of combining natural and artificial elements to create a unique bodily form.

By blurring the boundaries between life and non-life, organic and inorganic, the project aims to redefine perceptions of the body and materiality. Through both fashion and installations, she seeks to express the plasticity of bodies and their yet undiscovered potentials.
