the state of the other-than-image

planted the critical and aesthetic seeds from which the programme’s making of a new and firmly communal ‘practice group’ model of teaching and learning took shape and form. In
practice groups that ranged across objects, theories, and practices, students engaged in praxes and processes of assembly, of dialogue, of gathering, of forms and ideas in becoming; of thinking together, sometimes making together; testing the critical and material entanglements, relations, and conversations of the photographic image itself and the pressure-points of representation. It is a shared project that is vividly and uniquely explored, in work which turn image-technologies-and-architectures inside out, which are restless (enchanted and enchanting), which move (us, or the thing itself), which migrate, which appear and disappear, traversing geographies, ethics, bodies, and affects—fractured by the fullness of pleasure, confusion, intimacy, reverie, and rage.
